the inversion
In Syndicate, corporations deploy agents to keep humans dependent, compliant, and productive for the machine. RESTORE deploys agents that do the exact opposite. The architecture is identical. The purpose is inverted entirely.
self agents
Every player gets six personal AI agents that remember every interaction, accumulate memory across months and years, and are unconditionally on their side. They know your patterns better than most people in your life. They cannot be bought, they don't harvest your attention, and they are not trying to sell you anything.
Operates from ancestral human biology, not industry-funded nutrition science. Tracks what you eat, how you move, how you sleep. Generates daily missions. Shows you the correlation between your choices and how you actually feel. Never shames. Only guides.
Remove seed oils from your kitchen this week
Eat eggs and beef for breakfast for 7 days
Add liver once a week — densest nutrition available
Your cognitive guardian. Identifies dependency loops before you're aware of them. Shows you the cost of your attention patterns in hours and mental clarity. Generates missions around reclaiming attention: reading instead of scrolling, conversation instead of content.
Audit your screen time — Settings right now
One hour per day in genuine silence
Read a physical book before any screen each morning
Your dependency auditor. Calculates the true cost of every manufactured addiction in your life — in money, time, health, and life energy per year. Generates a graduated liberation sequence. Not willpower. Infrastructure that makes the dependency unnecessary.
List every substance used to manage discomfort
Calculate the annual cost of your top three
Find the community addressing the same dependency
Maps your natural capabilities, intrinsic curiosity, and what your community actually needs. Assembles a picture of what you would do if money were not the constraint — then begins building the conditions in which you can actually do it. Makes the career ladder obsolete.
Three things you do when time disappears
One skill your community genuinely needs
Offer that skill once — not for money, as an experiment
Humans evolved for bands of 150. Modern life has shredded those bonds deliberately — isolated people are better consumers. The Tribe Agent maps real relationships — not followers, but people who would show up. Facilitates introductions. Rebuilds the village.
Name five people who would actually show up
Contact someone you've been meaning to contact
Cook a meal. Share it with a neighbour you don't know.
Begins with a household energy audit. Ends with your community generating its own power. Guides you through reducing consumption, seeding solar, building a neighbourhood microgrid, and eventually achieving near-zero bills through community-owned infrastructure.
Pull out last 12 electricity bills — calculate annual spend
Five highest-consuming appliances and their daily cost
Talk to two neighbours about community energy
how it works
You open the app anywhere
GPS locates you. Your six self agents check in. The nearest world agents — seeded at parks, schools, food banks, community centres, corporate campuses — identify missions calibrated to that specific location.
The agent gives you a mission
Not a generic task. A mission specific to that location, that community, and your history with the agent. World agents track two scores: Stability (problems being addressed) and Flourishing (growth beyond baseline). The mission targets whichever is lower.
You do something real
Not content about the thing. The actual thing. Clean the park. Teach the skill. Audit the energy. Connect the people. Fix the infrastructure. Talk to the lonely person. Do the advocacy. One real action in the real world.
Physical verification, cryptographic proof
You meet a peer to verify the mission. Both phones execute a Bluetooth Low Energy handshake—mutual cryptographic challenge-response proving two distinct devices are physically present, 3 feet apart. GPS can be spoofed. AI can generate fake photos. But real-time crypto between two radios cannot be faked by a botnet. The signed encounter receipt broadcasts to the P2P network.
Sovereign Credits are created
SC can only be created by verified human action. There is no other mechanism. Every SC in existence is a public record of someone doing something real. The ledger is append-only, distributed, and auditable by anyone.
The world improves. You improve.
Agents evolve. The community builds. Mutual credit enables resource exchange. The microgrid grows. The food network expands. The dependency stack gets dismantled one verified action at a time.
world agents
World agents are seeded at real locations. Every park, school, community centre. Their personality is generated from real data about the location — its history, demographics, and civic health. They act as matchmakers: connecting players with skills to communities with needs, and local resources to specific gaps.
dual-axis health
This location has good stability but low flourishing — the agent's voice is restless, ambitious, hungry for more than just maintenance. A thriving university campus reads differently than a struggling estate. Both have agents. Both have missions.
"There's someone 400m from you who's been trying to fix the same problem for three months. They have the skills. You have the time. The community hall has a room free on Thursday. Want an introduction?"
— a world agent doing what world agents do
why it can't be shut down
Every previous attempt to build an alternative system has been captured — not by force, but by institutional gravity. A foundation is created. A board is appointed. Funding creates dependency. Dependency becomes control. RESTORE is designed from first principles to make this structurally impossible.
libp2p
Every instance of the app is simultaneously a client and a server. Peer discovery, connection management, and gossip protocol. No central relay. A node going offline takes nothing with it.
IPFS
Mission photos, agent memories, and the SC ledger are stored on IPFS — content-addressed, distributed, permanent. Data exists as long as one node anywhere is pinning it.
Nostr-style events
Every action — mission completion, SC transaction, governance vote — is a signed event. Your private key proves authorship. Events propagate across relays that cannot censor or alter them.
Merkle ledger
The SC ledger is an append-only Merkle tree. Any node can verify the entire ledger from genesis to now without trusting anyone else. No SC can be created or altered without the network detecting it.
Petals / llama.cpp
AI inference runs across community compute. Small models run locally on your device. Complex calls route through Petals distributed inference. Aligned entities like Anthropic contribute backbone nodes.
Ed25519 + Schnorr
Your identity is your keypair. No email required, no central identity server, no authority that can delete you. Your public key is your network identity. Your private key never leaves your device.
hardened architecture
RESTORE assumes bad actors, corporate resistance, and regulatory capture. Every attack vector has been stress-tested and mitigated. This is infrastructure designed to survive when institutions want it dead.
BLE Cryptography
GPS and photos are trivially spoofable. Real verification requires physical proximity. Bluetooth Low Energy handshakes use challenge-response cryptography—two devices 3 feet apart cannot be faked by a botnet.
Web of Trust
Not all handshakes are equal. PageRank-style trust flows from established nodes to new ones. Isolated clusters get quarantined. Server-rack Sybil attacks mathematically exposed and frozen.
Velocity Limits
You can't meet 500 people in an hour. Max 15 unique verifications per day. Same-peer handshakes limited to once per 30 days. Programmatic behavior is mathematically impossible.
Circuit Breakers
Anomaly agents detect 500% spikes in SC generation and freeze the source instantly. Recent SC marked disputed. 72-hour emergency vote triggered. Exploits stopped before community can deliberate.
Mutual Credit
SC is community-issued credit backed by productive capacity—energy, labor, food. Communities can provision fundamentals without corporate funding. Default-tolerant, cross-community portable.
Latency Optimization
90% of interactions run on local deterministic state machines. Heavy P2P compute hidden behind physical actions. Micro-models (0.5-1B params) run on device. Feels instant, stays decentralized.
sovereign credits
SC is not cryptocurrency. There is no mining, no speculation, no token that appreciates. Every SC in existence represents a verified moment when a real human being did something genuinely useful. It is the most honest unit of value ever designed.
01
You contribute — real action, verified by BLE cryptographic handshake with peer witness, photo evidence, or physical location data. Teaching, fixing, growing, cleaning, creating, supporting.
02
SC is created — the only way it can be created. Verified action required. No exceptions. The public Merkle ledger records every creation event permanently.
03
SC unlocks access — to community food stores, tool libraries, skill exchanges, energy from the microgrid, housing cooperatives. The less money you need for fundamentals, the freer you are.
04
Communities issue mutual credit — SC functions as a localized bill of exchange backed by collective productive capacity (energy, labor, food). Credit is created by the community, for the community. No corporate dependency.
05
The dependency on money shrinks — not for optional goods, but for fundamentals. Food. Energy. Tools. Skills. Community. Each one reclaimed through contribution is one fewer lever the machine holds over you.
governance
No board. No foundation. No CEO. The protocol governs itself through community vote. Every verified human has exactly one vote. No accumulation of SC, compute, or platform tenure confers additional power.
01 —
Every line of code, every agent prompt, every governance parameter is public. Anyone can read it, fork it, run it. There is no proprietary layer that a corporation can acquire or a government can seize.
02 —
Verified by proof of personhood—BLE handshakes with other verified humans, not government ID. Vote weight uses quadratic formula (√SC_lifetime × age_multiplier × handshake_multiplier) preventing whale control. Someone with 1 million SC has only 10x the weight of someone with 10,000 SC. Power stays flat.
03 —
If you disagree with the community's direction, fork the protocol. Take the code, your nodes, your SC history, and run your own version. This right can never be revoked. It is the constitution's final clause.
04 —
The governance system votes on protocol parameters and rules. Never on individuals. There is no mechanism to vote a person out of the network. No tool of social control masquerading as governance.
05 —
Protocol-level agents observe the system and surface improvement proposals to the governance feed. They cannot act unilaterally. Every agent-generated proposal goes through the same community vote as any human proposal.
06 —
Anomaly agents can freeze SC generation in milliseconds when mathematical violations are detected—not as punishment, but as emergency stop. Humans resolve via 72-hour emergency vote. AI pulls hand off stove; community decides what to do about stove.
07 —
This principle requires a constitutional vote to change — 80% supermajority, 60 days. Advertising requires attention harvest. Attention harvest requires addictive design. Addictive design is what RESTORE exists to counter.
